Marvel lays off its Avengers onslaught as DC wraps up some mini-series and sends Superman offworld! Sounds like its time for another pull list!!

The Pull List! Week of March 4th, 2009

Looks like its time for the Pull List again. Marvel takes the crown for having the most exciting week of new comics, while DC seems to be taking an off week, releasing the first issue of the World of New Krypton mini and finishing up both the Cacophony and Terror Titans mnis. Come to think of it, doesn’t DC have some little movie they’ve been talking about a little coming out this weekend? Wonder if they’re related, hurm. Regardless, here’s what you need to read in comics this week. Full listings are available at the publisher’s web sites, or at http://www.diamondcomics.com/

DC COMICS

Batman: Cacophony #3 (Of 3)

Why You Should Read It: Kevin Smith, notorious for not finishing what he’s started in comic books, manages to finish this incredible story on time. The first two issues were rife with humor, adventure, and excitement, and now its set to end with a bang.

In This Issue: The Joker versus Onomatopoeia! But will Batman let Onomatopoeia escape to save The Joker’s life?

Superman: World of New Krypton #1 (Of 12)

Why You Should Read It: As I mentioned in my review of Superman #685, the Superman family of titles are undergoing a level of intrigue and revision that parallels the X-Men after the “Messiah CompleX” event. A bold new chapter in the life of Superman is underway, so don’t miss this mini-series, as its the only place to find the Man of Steel for the next year.

In This Issue: The world of New Krypton, opposite of the Moon from Earth. The nefarious General Zod, released from the Phantom Zone and declared leader of New Krypton’s armies. To find out Zod’s master plan, Superman must abandon his foster home and seek a place among his kind, but will he be able to keep peace on New Krypton, or will a war break out with Earth?

Terror Titans #6 (Of 6)

Why You Should Read It: Serious ramifications from this title are slated to affect the Teen Titans title, which seems to have a found a new life in its current roster shake-up. “Terror Titans” is going to be the bridge that puts Ravager and Milestone’s Static in to the Titans.

In This Issue: The Clock King and his Terror Titans have attacked Los Angeles! What role will Ravager and Static play? And will everyone make it out alive?

Cable #12

Why You Should Read It: I feel I’ve iterated my love for post-Messiah CompleX X-Men enough this week. Cable has been the stand-out series, as Cable and the Messiah Child, now named Hope, travel through the time stream.

In This Issue: A prelude to the Messiah War! Stranded in the wastelands of the future, the Messiah Child faces her first challenge: saving Cable!

Daredevil #116

Why You Should Read It: Daredevil has taken on a noir-feel which suits the character perfectly. Matt Murdock’s life of hell continues its downward spiral, as he faces divorce and deals with the guilt of cheating on his now mentally damaged wife.

In This Issue: The Kingpin returns after a long absence, but how is it connected with the recent events of Matt Murdock’s life?

Deadpool #8

Why You Should Read It: The Merc With A Mouth remains one of comics funnier characters, and is secretly the true hero of the Secret Invasion. As his new series picks up steam, expect him to play a bit more prominently in to the world of the Dark Reign.

In This Issue: “Magnum Opus” begins, as Deadpool must fight the Thunderbolts as he seeks revenge against Norman Osborne for stealing the Skrull secrets he stole.

New Avengers: The Reunion #1 (Of 4)

Why You Should Read It: In the wake of the Secret Invasion, Bobbi Morse is returned to the Marvel Universe. Lost and confused, Bobbi must now find her own life, both as the Avenger Mockinbird and as the wife of Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye and Ronin.

In This Issue: As Mockingbird looks for her own life and Ronin tries to reconnect with his long lost wife, but what secret followed her back that could mean the end of their lives?
