Oracle: The Cure #2ORACLE: THE CURE #2 (OF 3)

Why You Should Read It: Last issue had one hell of an ending, as we discover players in an online gaming environment are being murdered, including one of Oracle’s own informants! Meanwhile, the Calculator is searching for the remnants of the Anti-Life Equation. It was one hell of a way to start off a mini-series, already speculated to end with Barbara Gordon walking again, but can Oracle: The Cure do better with its second issue than Battle For The Cowl did?

Official Solicitation: “The Calculator will go to any lengths to save the life of his daughter Wendy – even if it means using remnants of the Anti-Life Equation to do so! But when Oracle intervenes, she soon finds out that the Calculator has been killing Internet hackers from across the globe to get his hands on the Equation, and the final name on his list is hers!”

Green Lantern Corps #35GREEN LANTERN CORPS #35

Why You Should Read It: Derk mentioned that this title bores him in his own Pull List, but really this is a fantastic title. Kyle Rayner was always, in my opinion, the superior Green Lantern, and Guy Gardner is usually good for a laugh or two. The book has had its highs and lows, but the pluses definitely outweigh the minuses, and now that The Blackest Night is getting closer, Green Lantern Corps is slated to become an even bigger title than in previous crossover events.

Official Solicitation: “Prelude to BLACKEST NIGHT! “Emerald Eclipse” continues as a Red Lantern escapes out of its sciencell and ignites a riot on Oa, forcing Guy, Kyle, Kilowog and Voz to try and prevent the ultimate jailbreak. Meanwhile, Sodam Yat and Arisia arrive on Daxam to stop Mongul and the Sinestro Corps. But how can they hope to stop an entire Corps? Plus: Sinestro arrives on Korugan in search of his daughter!”

And even if all this is answered, can Spider-Man overcome this issue’s shocking plot twist, one that’s slated to change the entire face of the Marvel Universe?

Official Solicitation: “The gloves are off! The MASK is off! And for Spidey and the Torch? It’s on! Captain America #49CAPTAIN AMERICA #49

Why You Should Read It: Brubaker continues to bring on the pure genius. Recently, the new Captain America has stopped an infamous ring of testing on the classic Human Torch, honoring the legacy of Captain America and insuring a respectful end for the legendary Marvel hero. Now, nearly two years after the death of Steve Rogers, its time to take a look at Sharon Carter, the woman who killed Captain America…but is there more to the mystery than even she realizes?

Official Solicitation: “The most important issue of Captain America since issue 25 is finally here! Sharon Carter’s dreams are forcing her to relive the death of Steve Rogers — and her time under the control of Dr. Faustus.
