With less than a month until its original intended release date, Ghostbusters: The Video Game may have hit yet another snag...unless, of course, you own a Sony console.

We Ain’t Afraid Of No Ghosts, But Publishers Scare The **** Out Of Us

A few months ago, I got an XBox 360 cheap off of half.com.  You can imagine my excitement.  I mean…GAMES!  I picked up a couple games, most notably The Orange Box, but the first thing I thought was “Holy shit, now I can play Ghostbusters and Batman: Arkham Asylum when they come out!”

Earlier this month, “Batman: Arkham Asylum” was pushed back until the end of the summer publishing quarter, meaning around September.  At the earliest.

Today, via multiple sources, we’re finding out that Sony is playing the exclusivity card, and will be publishing “Ghostbusters: The Video Game” for PS3 and PS2, with the 360 version coming “later this year”.

The report, originally found at MCV and reported through Kotaku and Proton Charging, doesn’t seem to affect North American publishing, but it doesn’t say it won’t affect it either, so who knows?

It just goes to show, you can’t get your hopes up until the games in your hand…
