CAPTAIN AMERICA Costume Art Leaks

Well, here’s another fun one today: the preliminary art for the upcoming CAPTAIN AMERICA movie is already leaking, as we get an advance look at what Captain America may look like when Chris Evans picks up the shield next year.  It’s technically a spoiler, so you’ve got to hit the jump to see more.

Unsurprisingly, the costume echoes the Ultimate Universe cap, and even omits the famous wings that are typically on Cap’s head.  I’m not a huge fan of the suspenders thing he’s got going, but this is undeniably a Captain America costume through and through. It’s also obviously drawn with Evans in mind, so in a way this is our fist look at Evans as Cap.

Evidently, this will be one of two costumes that Cap wears in the film: this one for combat, and one meant for public engagements that is more similar to the classic Captain America suit. Which kind of makes sense.

Whether or not this is the final design still remains to be seen.  CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER hits theaters next year, and stars Chris Evans in the title role.
