Boom! goes into THE DEEP

Boom! Studios is prepping for New York Comic Con with daily announcements, and last night announced they were venturing into ‘The Deep‘.

Originally published in Australia in 2011, ‘The Deep‘ follows a family of underwater adventurers, the Nektons. An earthquake hits the coast of Greenland, and the family goes into action after it leads to reports of monster sightings.

Written by Tom Taylor (All-New WolverineSuperior Iron Man) and illustrated by James Brouwer (Justice League Beyond), The Deep’s initial release in Australia proved popular enough to warrant a Netflix adaptation. Boom’s publication, via it’s KaBOOM! imprint, will be its first worldwide publication.

Boom!’s previous NYCC announcements included a new original series from novelist Delilah S. Dawson and artist Ashley A. Woods, and a new limited series, Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Giants. As has become tradition, they have a new announcement every day leading up to the first day of NYCC.

The Deep is expected to hit shelves this January.
