The following contains spoilers for “Punisher: War Journal” issue #11.
War Journal #11 is mostly filler, setting up for the next arc, but there was a pretty big moment.
Hey, isn’t that the Captain America costume that Punisher made? The one that everyone swore up and down meant Frank was going to become the next Cap, since he picked up the mask at the end of Civil War?
Shove it, kids!! I called it, and that’s all there is to it. Marvel will never make Frank Castle a permanent Captain America.
On the cool note? Frank leaving the costume and Cap mask to formerly dead Cap sidekick Bucky. Will Bucky become the new Cap? Maybe. It would be pretty damn cool, since that would officially make Bucky the first Legacy hero in the Marvel Universe.
