Sorry for the audio issues.  We’re working on not sucking for the next one.

Derk and I have been talking about doing a podcast.  We’ve finally done it.  OH JOY.  In this first edition, we ramble quite a bit.  The key point of discussions?  The King of Country Western Troubadours, Unknown Hinson, Derk fleshes out his Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen review a bit more, the virtues of Michael Bay versus Uwe Boll, why A Nightmare On Elm Street shouldn’t be remade, how Batman: Arkham Asylum handles, proof that Michael Jackson probably wasn’t a pedobear, and the mysterious sandwiches of potential death.

Marvel has made available “Captain America Reborn” Prelude as a digital comic. The Brubaker written, Luke Ross illustrated story tells the events leading directly into the beginning of “Captain America Reborn” #1, on sale tomorrow.

"Superman/Batman: Public Enemies" Gets a Release Date

Comic Book Resources is reporting the newly announced release date for DC’s forthcoming animated feature, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies.  The film goes direct to DVD on September 29th with a 2 Disc Special Edition, which will have several featurettes, including “The Blackest Night: Inside The DC Comics Event”, “A Team Of Minds” with Jeph Loeb looking at the Superman/Batman team-up concept, and “Dinner With DC Featuring Kevin Conroy”, in which the legendary Batman voice actor will discuss the creative approach to the story, and is joined by Voice Director Andrea Romano, Producer Bruce Timm, and Gregory Noveck.  The 2 disc will also include a look at DC’s next, yet to be announced animated feature and 2 episodes of Justice League Unlimited, and will retail $24.98, with a single disc going for $19.99.  There will also be a Blu-Ray edition for $29.99.

The next release in DC’s ever growing animated feature line-up is Green Lantern: First Flight, which is slated to come out on July 28th.  Hit the jump for Superman/Batman: Public Enemies recently yanked yet still available thanks to a Russian sharing site trailer.

Showtime has Dexter and Californication, Starz has Weeds, but HBO has undoubtedly led the pack, with hits like The Sopranos, Deadwood, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Now, there’s one more to add to that pack: Hung.

Mon-El has been front and center of Superman for a few months now.  And its pretty sad, but the book is actually far more interesting now.  With the recent revelation that the mystery serum that cured Mon-El of his lead poisoning is only temporary and is now slowly killing him, the book has taken a blazing turn to character drama as Mon-El rushes to see the world, experiencing life for the first time and desperately wanting to live.  Continue reading →

pegg-frost-paul-300x225I am one of those  fan girls who will see anything Simon Pegg is connected to. Shaun of the Dead? I watch it daily while eating a strawberry Cornetto . Hot Fuzz? Weekly, while I nosh on a Cornetto Classico. Band of Brothers for a two episode part? Monthly, sans Cornetto since that joke only applies to films Pegg and Frost produce together. Fortunately for me, Mr. Pegg made a deal with the devil to only produce entertainment fried gold.
