AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Poster Hits The Web

I’m trying to maintain an open mind regarding THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. I think Andrew Garfield and Rhys Ifans are good choices, but I’m still wary about a reboot and, as I’ve mentioned many, many times before, I think the new costume looks like shit. That said, the trailer that I neglected to mention at it’s release…

…looks pretty great, and has an interesting feel, coming across as much darker and more willing to embrace the body horror aspects of the character, which should blissfully set the film away from Raimi’s more upbeat trilogy.

Today we got a new teaser poster, and it fits in with the feel of the trailer pretty perfectly.

The Amazing Spider-Man Teaser Poster
I’m not sure what “The Untold Story” it promises is. We’ve been told many times that the film isn’t a reboot necessarily; is the new film going to somehow play in to the continuity of the previous films? Only time will tell, I suppose.  Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen and Sally Field, and will hit the big screen July 3, 2012. In the meantime, as our friends over at Galaxy Next Door reported, you can check out the first look at the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man video game during Saturday’s VGA show. The game shows a lot of promise, returning the game series back to the open world gameplay that made Spider-Man 2 one of the best comic video games ever for so long (I think we can all agree that it’s since been dethroned by Rocksteady’s Batman franchise). Look! A teaser trailer from the nice folks at Marvel.

Spoilers ahoy! Check out this sick Lizard concept art courtesy of ComingSoon.net, and tell us what you think of the film’s interpretation of the long demanded character.
