David Slade: No New News On DAREDEVIL Reboot

Back in June, it was announced that David A. Slade, the director of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and 30 Days of Night would be taking on a reboot of the Daredevil film franchise, which Fringe writer Brad Caleb Kane was scripting, based on the seminal Frank Miller story “Born Again“.

But that was June. We’ve heard nary a peep on the project since, until just a few moments ago on Twitter, when Slade broke the silence and revealed there’s no “real update”.

I believe the Hannibal project he refers to is the upcoming Bryan Fuller TV series, an hourlong focusing ont he relationship between Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham. It’s set after Hannibal Rising and before Red Dragon. Or Manhunter. Whichever you’d prefer.

The Daredevil reboot is fairly anticipated. The character previously hit the big screen in the 2003 vehicle starring Ben Affleck as the titular Man Without Fear. It’s pretty hard panned by fans, but it’s honestly not as bad as you remember, especially the director’s cut.
