Marvel recently released this teaser art for “The Thanos Imperative”, which showcases Quasar, Beta Ray Bill, The Guardian, Nova, Silver Surfer, and Ronan The Accuser, which proudly displays “The Galaxy’s Mightiest Heroes”, a take on the tagline usually associated with The Avengers.
Last month, it was confirmed that Incredible Hercules co-writer Fred Van Lente was getting his own Avengers title, debuting this November. It’s not been confirmed what the new title will be, exactly, but on his Twitter page, Van Lente stated “When it’s announced, I think you’ll agree it’s the most ‘Van Lentean’Avengers title ever. They’ve been New, Mighty, Young, Dark, West Coast, Great Lakes, Initiative, Academy, Prime … What could be next? What?” The odds on favorite with fans so far has been a book featuring the space themed heroes.
So, if this is the case, could this be your Cosmic Avengers? All hints imply that Thanos Imperative is the endcap on the space saga that’s been going on since Annihilation, but with all the interest these books generate, a space themed Avengers book could potentially pull in a lot of readers. So, what do you guys think? Would you read a Van Lente penned Cosmic Avengers?
Update. Well, there’s the answer to that.
Thanks to brandon_whaley for pointing this out to me. So, who do you guys wanna see on a Van Lente’s AVENGERS book?
