“Beenox is once again taking a fresh and different approach to bring a fast-paced and high-octane adventure to fans in ‘Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.'”

I really dug SPIDER-MAN: SHATTERED DIMENSIONS. The game was lacking in areas, and the Spider-Man Noir areas felt like cheap rip offs of BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM, but ultimately the game had solid game play, great voice acting and looked beautiful. Plus, it had Spider-Man 2099 in his first proper video game release, and for a fanboy like me that’s a huge deal.
Now there’s an official annoucement to the follow-up for SHATTERED DIMENSIONS, and it’s SPIDER-MAN: EDGE OF TIME, a team-up game where Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099 work together. I’m looking forward to this one, as it sounds like the developers know what the best parts about SHATTERED DIMENSIONS were and are running with it.
The game, written by Peter David, is said to feature “cause and effect” gameplay, where a player’s actions in one era will be noticable in the next as Spider-Man alters the timeline. Sounds like some great puzzles to be thrown in too. We’ll see if it’s any good when it launches this fall.
