Amidst the flurry of DC announcements, you have have missed this one tonight: popular writer Ron Marz has announced he’s leaving Witchblade, the Top Cow/Image Comics title he’s been writing since taking it over with issue #80 in 2004. Marz has offered no details on where he’s going yet, but has announced that both he and artist Stjepan Sejic (who has been working on the book since #116) will be leaving with issue #150.

Marz has written 71 consecutive issues of the series, and has a long storied history in comics, including the notoriety gained for writing the Emerald Twilight storyline which killed Green Lantern Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps, and introduced Kyle Rayner, a move which actually resulted in the writer receiving death threats from dedicated fans.  Sejic, who hails from Croatia, has been working as an artist in comics for the past several years, and has provided artwork for titles such as Rise of Kings: Inhumans and the event X-Men: Endangered Species.
