X-Men: Regenesis Confirms “Uncanny” Isn’t Really Cancelled

Last week, Marvel surprised everyone by cancelling Uncanny X-Men, which has been running pretty much consistently since the 60s. It was a big, surprising change that implied just how big the post-Schism X-Men would be.

Sorry guys. It’s not really happening.

Today Marvel announced the post-Schism X titles: Wolverine & The X-Men #1, which follows a Wolverine led team of X-Men which looks to include Colossus, Rogue, White Queen, and Kitty Pryde, as well as the Cyclops led X-team which appears to include Iceman, Storm, Psylocke, Gambite, X-23, and Magneto in…wait for it…Uncanny X-Men #1.

No indication is given if the pictured teams are accurate. It is worth noting that not only is Professor Xavier shown with both teams, but he’s once again in his wheelchair.  After being re-paralyzed the third or fourth time, you’d think he would just get used to it.

Uncanny X-Men keeps Kieron Gillen on as writer, with Greg Land and Carlos Pacheco rotating the art chores. Wolverine & The X-Men features long time Punisher and current Wolverine scribe Jason Aaron, with Chris Bachelo on art chores. We’ll update more as it becomes available.
