Heath Slater being squashed by various WWE legends has been insanely entertaining, but what is in my opinion the best one so far may not make it to air.
This past week on the new NXT, Heath Slater showed up only to wind up facing Scotty 2 Hotty, one half of the popular Attitude Era tag team Too Cool. The match of course ended with Scotty getting the pin after nailing his signature finisher, The WORM.
Unfortunately, it’s likely this won’t make it to air, at least not for most viewers. NXT currently occupies FCW’s old station and time slot, and is no longer broadcast on WWE.com.
Scotty 2 Hotty, born Scott Garland, was with the WWE from 1991 to 2007, most prominently as Too Cool with Grandmaster Sexay and Rikishi Fatu, father of Jimmy and Jey Uso.
Despite the popularity of Too Cool, Scotty was a Tag Team Champion only twice; once with Grandmaster Sexay and once with Rikishi. Garland has remained on the independent circuit ever since his departure from WWE in 2007. Grandmaster Sexay, the son of Jerry “The King” Lawler, also left the WWE in 2004, though he returned briefly during his father’s feud with Michael Cole. Rikishi as released from the WWE in 2004 after repeated requests from the company for him to drop weight.
