It’s remarkable to say that one of Marvel’s most anticipated projects is now Edgar Wright’s “Ant-Man” film. Today Marvel, via it’s Marvel Entertainment Tumblr, announced the upcoming adventure of The World’s Smallest Hero as getting a November 6, 2015 release date, putting it out six months after Joss Whedon’s “Avengers 2” hits screens.
The post, which also gives “Iron Man 3” and “Thor: The Dark World” 3D release dates of May 3 and November 8 2013, respectively, still refers to all items as the Phase 2 films. It’s unclear if Ant-Man may somehow be an “Avengers 2” prequel, wrap up some loose ends from the film, or actually jump start the inevitable Phase 3 initiative.
Wright’s “Ant-Man”, which has been in development since 2007, has yet to receive a synopsis, nor has any casting been announced. A special flavor trailer, featuring Ant-Man incapacitating guards in an elevator, was screened at Comic-Con in July, but has not been officially released by the company.
