Every once in a while, the WWE does a little spring cleaning of talent. Not necessarily in the spring, but they’re known to from time to time release large groups of talent in one go. It’s looking like that may be about to happen now, with rumors of talent release impending. So far, only two have been released: remaining Dudebuster Trent Barreta (born Gregory Marasciulo) and developmental wrestler Buggy Nova, better known from her time in the indies as Skyler Moon.
A number of talent have made somewhat vague Twitter comments regarding the release of Barreta, who featured on Zack Ryder’s “Z! True Long Island Story” (which, coincidentally, ended on Friday), but had not been on TV for quite some time due to an injury.
Also of note is Bill DeMott’s demotion from NXT Head Trainer. Recently, a number of talent have come forward about DeMott’s practices as the trainer, revealing incredibly harsh and dangerous conditions and a general lack of concern for the well being of wrestlers. DeMott remains with the company, but is replaced in the position by former Tag Team Champion Kip Sopp, better known as “Bad Ass” Billy Gunn.
