I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on a couple of Force FX Elite Lightsabers (Leia’s from “Rise of Skywalker” and the Darksaber from “The Mandalorian,” specifically), and they’re honestly super impressive pieces. I don’t pick up many because of the space (and the pricing!), but I might have to break that sabbatical for this one.
That’s because Hasbro just revealed what, in my opinion, is the best modern “Star Wars” lightsaber in Force FX form: the one carried by Baylan Skoll in “Star Wars: Ahsoka.”
I thought Skoll was a really interesting character, brought to life by an excellent performance by the late Ray Stevenson. I’m hopeful we’ll get to see Skoll back in some way, shape, or form, but only time will tell.
His lightsaber is just a really interesting, clean design. I appreciate the more simplistic, functional hilt, akin to the minimalist style a Jedi like Qui-Gon Jinn had, while still having some ornamentation via its four-pronged hilt. Plus, it has that super cool orange blade.
As with all Force FX releases, the Lightsaber comes with the hilt, a removable blade, and a stand to display it on. The Lightsaber has sound effects, progressive ignition (that just means the blade appears to extend up the tube!), and all the other standard fare Force FX features like blaster deflect and wall-cutting effects.
