Chris Jericho suspended indefinitely after incident in Brazil

Update: The WWE has now changed Jericho’s suspension to 30 days.

WWE Superstar Chris Jericho has been suspended indefinitely after nearly being ARRESTED for desecrating the Brazilian flag.

The incident went down at a WWE house show. CM Punk made his way to the ring waving the Brazilian flag when Jericho interrupted, grabbed the flag and kicked it out of the ring.

Brazilian authorities intervened and informed Jericho that desecrating the flag of Brazil is a criminal offense punishable by incarceration, but allowed Jericho to get off with just apologizing to the crowd.

In response to the situation, the WWE has suspended Jericho indefinitely.

While one could argue this could be a work and taken with a grain of salt, Jericho did immediately grab the microphone and apologize to the crowd.

As of now, he’s just been suspended and not released like Finlay was after authorizing a similar incident with The Miz just over a year ago. Jericho was already on his way out after a brief program over the summer, to tour with his band Fozzy.
