I Can’t Stop Thinking About Sam Lake’s TikTok

I’m late to the party on Remedy Entertainment, mainly having missed Max Payne and completely skipped Alan Wake. I did love Control, though! But there is one thing I didn’t miss out on: how fucking great Sam Lake is.

His TikTok came across my feed the other day, and it speaks to me in a way I was unprepared for. Aside from a few instances of Sam hanging out in the woods, they’re all just quick, quiet clips of him drinking coffee.

The recent posts are tied to Sam being in LA for Summer Game Fest. Sam was on hand to promote Alan Wake II, the much-anticipated sequel that no one thought we would ever see. Alan Wake II follows the titular tortured writer as he tries to escape imprisonment in an alternate dimension the only way he knows how – by writing a horror novel.

Sam Lake has been a long-time presence at Remedy, with a face you literally can’t miss. He’s perhaps best known as the face model for Max Payne, but he was also on writing chores on Max Payne 1 & Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, as well as Alan Wake, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare and Control. He’s a creative director and writer on Alan Wake II and the face model for the new character Alex Casey.

Meanwhile, if you dug Summer Game Fest, Geoff Keighly just announced it’s coming back next year. Man, now I want a coffee.
