Solicitation In this issue — the start of “Reign of Doomsday” – Doomsday has returned to Metropolis, and Steel is the only hero who can keep him from destroying the city! But how can Steel, a normal human, possibly hope to stop the monster who killed Superman?

Why You Care I’ve got a soft spot for Steel.  While I’m not going to say he should be an instant replacement for Superman, he’s definitely a hero who I feel has been somewhat neglected since his run as a feature player in “52“, with no on-going and only a few appearances here and there.  DC kicks off 2011 with a Steel one-shot (along with numerous others), but this one has a double whammy in that it kicks off a new storyline featuring the return of Doomsday.  No clue how the “Reign of Doomsday” story is going to pan out, but if Steel’s around we can wager it’ll be one hell of a fight.
